Mykola Tomenko: The Authorities should ask how the Big Business and Migrant Journalists and Football Players pay their Taxes

Mykola Tomenko, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is convinced that unshadowing of salaries shall start from the rich, since it was the President who repeatedly made the point that rich citizens are supposed to share with the poor. He made this statement after the Conciliative Council on Monday. The Deputy Chairman reminded that according to figures from a recent opinion pool, 42,3% of the citizens informed that their friends or relatives receive ‘pay envelopes´(partially or fully).

However, the Deputy Chairman believes that the campaign shall start not from the employees or farmers but from big business using offshore companies. "It would also be interesting to ask famous foreign journalists and football players whether they pay taxes in Ukraine", added the politician.

"We support unshadowing of wages, provided it is realistic and correct. It would be reasonable to learn how the orders of the President and the Prime Minister regarding counteractin to 'pay envelopes' are fulfilled. We should start from the big business, not from the general public", emphasized M. Tomenko.
